When riding a Yamaha, including their world renowned Super Sport Bikes and Cruisers, make sure to follow the motorcycle safety foundation rules and bylines.

On any Yamaha bike, the tires need to be in good to pristine condition. Inspect if there is any wear and tear or anything impeding your bike’s ability to give you a smooth and seamless ride. Checking the tire pressure is also essential especially as the temperature gets cooler.

Always check your brake pads and discs for any wear if your brakes are functioning. This is your first step in being ready to ride.

Check that your hand grips are working properly and that your handlebars are straight and turn easily. This prevents potential accidents. The throttle also shouldn’t Rev when turning the handle bars.

Pedals and levers should be tested as well and a visual inspection to make sure there are no bends or cracks. Cables and hoses should be treated with the same care to ensure there is no damage.

The battery needs to be in good condition to operate a Yamaha whether it be a sport bike or a cruiser. Make sure the battery is clean and that the battery is operating with the proper electrolyte level.

The lights should be inspected as well making sure all lights and especially the turn signals are all working. Make sure all wires and switches are operating at proper function and finally make sure your mirrors are clean and crack free.

Make sure the bike is filled with the proper fluids and there are no leaks. Fuel, engine fluid, coolant hydraulic fluid, and transmission fluid are essential to operate your ride at full capacity.

The body of the bike needs to be in good condition. Again a visual inspection will do. The bike should be free of any cracks or damage to the bike or its accessories.

Lastly, take a look at the chain or belt to make sure it has the right lubrication tension and that the teeth are fully engaged.

All that being said, you are now ready to enjoy your new ride. Wheels up.

Lastly, it’s recommended you buy a sturdy bike stand for when your ride is idle. The center and side stands need to have enough tension in the springs to hold this puppy upright. This applies to Cruisers, Super Sport bikes, and even the Dual Sport Hyper Naked and Adventure Touring models.

You are now ready to ride!
